✦ Synopsis

Abstract

The syntheses of methyl‐^3^H‐labelled diazepam (4) and the methiodides of (+)‐ and (−)‐bicuculline (5) labelled with tritium in their methyl groups are described. Also reported here is a novel method for the preparation of triti‐ated methyl iodide (3) serving as the radioactive precursor for the substances mentioned above.
