## Abstract Lithium aluminium hydride in the presence of vinylmagnesium bromide (1:1 molar ratio) affords a potent reagent for the reduction of acrylic acid to allyl alcohol (ratio of allyl alcohol to 1βpropanol: 3:2). This reducing mixture has allowed the preparation of nocarrier added [1β^11^C]al
