โฆ Synopsis
A Neuronal Circuit Modeling Program (NCMP) is described which allows the simulation of networks of integrative neurons. The connectivity of the network is completely specified by the user in block diagram form, and outputs may be requested in the form of interval and post-stimulus-time histograms, instantaneous frequencies, and auto and cross correlations. The basic element is an integrative neuron with four independent somadendritic cables to which synaptic inputs may be applied. Inputs may be specified in three compartments: soma, proximal dendrite, and distal dendrite. In addition to the integrative neuron, other elements in the standard set include: an axon or time delay; a simple relay neuron; an interneuron, which responds with a burst of firing to an input; a pulse input generator; and a random stimulator.

A cycle of four enzymatic reactions with repression or allosteric inhibition of the enzymes has been proposed by analogy to a neural oscillator. The system is analysed in a situation remote from full symmetry. Asymmetry has been introduced by treating one of the reagents as a reservoir substance wit
