Abstract
A multiband monopole antenna with wideband characteristic is proposed for CDMA/GSM900/DCS1800/PCS1900/UMTS/IMT2000/Wibro/WiMAX2350 applications. By using a stripline‐loaded structure, L‐shaped slots in the ground plane and tapered feeding line, wideband characteristic can be achieved. The proposed antenna occupies a volume of 39.7 × 8.3 × 11 mm^3^ barring the ground plane. Moreover, it has good omni‐directional radiation characteristics within its operation band. A prototype has been fabricated and tested, and the experimental results validate the design procedure. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A low profile planar antenna, comprising a driven element coupled with one or more parasitic elements is proposed. The design is suitable to be used into a handheld device due to the antenna reduced dimensions (33 × 15 × 1 mm^3^). To facilitate the integration of other components, such
## Abstract The design of a novel microstrip‐fed planar mobile phone antenna operating within the GSM/PCS/DCS band is proposed. Besides the additional ability to cover the entire wireless local area network frequency spectrum at 2.4, 5.2, and 5.8 GHz, its multiband operation also includes the GLONA
## Abstract A low‐profile internal monopole antenna has been proposed for multistandard mobile phones. The proposed antenna operates at GSM (880–960 MHz), DCS (1710–1880 MHz), PCS (1850–1990 MHz), UMTS (1920–2170 MHz), WiBro (2300–2390 MHz), Bluetooth (2.42–2.48 GHz), S‐DMB (2.630–2.655 GHz), and W
An inno¨ati¨e monopole antenna with a parasitic helix mounted on the ground plane is designed for installation on mobile-phone handsets. Unlike the con¨entional monopole antenna, measurements showed that the added parasitic helix could result in a wider bandwidth for the whole antenna. The radiation
## Abstract A planar dual‐meander‐line antenna consisting of three branch strips for a low‐profile GSM/DCS/PCS/WLAN multiband mobile handset is proposed. The branch strips are designed to operate as quarter‐wavelength structures at 900 and 2000 MHz, respectively, and the obtained impedance bandwidt
