✦ Synopsis

A uniformly illuminated square subarray of 16 circularly polarized patch elements is de¨eloped. It can be incorporated into a ( ) full-size direct broadcast satellite DBS recei¨er antenna. A stacked circular patch microstrip configuration is used to achie¨e increased bandwidth. Experimental results for the return loss, bandwidth, radiation pattern, and gain are presented.
