✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A planar hexagonal patch monopole ultra‐wideband (UWB) antenna with band‐notch feature is proposed for UWB communication applications. The notched band is realized by cutting off a pair of tilted slot on the hexagonal patch, which can be tuned. The roles of various design parameters are characterized and examined. Optimal parameters are used eventually for experiments. Good agreement is achieved between the simulated and measured results. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract This article presents the design of a novel ultra‐wideband microstrip‐fed planar monopole antenna with dual band‐notched characteristics. The proposed antenna achieved an impedance bandwidth of 3.1–11.7 GHz with VSWR <2, except the bandwidths of 3.3–4.0 GHz for WiMAX and 5.5–6.3 GHz for
## Abstract An ultra‐wideband (UWB) square slot antenna with a band‐notched characteristic is presented. The proposed antenna has a simple configuration and is easy to construct. The ultra‐wideband operation is realized by loading an offset rectangular stub at the end of the microstrip feed line. T
