The design problem of multirate filter banks can be divided into two parts. The first part involves the issue of reconstruction error of the signal which consists of three components-aliasing, magnitude, and phase. The second part of the design problem involves the issue of designing good-quality su

β¦ Synopsis
This paper presents a method to design a filter with combination wavelets. The combination wavelets filter (CWF) is formed by frequency shift and single wavelet superposition. This paper discusses how to select the parameters needed to construct the filters with Gaussian combination wavelets. The low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, band elimination and multiband-pass filters are designed and the examples given. The combination wavelets filter can be designed easily and conveniently by choosing the correct parameters. This method can be used flexibly and widely.

We apply wavelet-based numerical homogenization to the simulation of an optical waveguide filter. We use the method to derive approximate one-dimensional models and subgrid models of the filter. Numerical examples of the technique are presented, and the computational gains are investigated.
A design method for filters having duobinary or modified duobinary signal pulses as impulse response is presented.
Wavelet reconstruction almost always reduces to the study of certain algebraic identities for polynomials. Typically, one polynomial is chosen and another is found which satisfies an identity appropriate for the desired wavelet construction. In this paper we explore one such equation and give applic
