## Abstract This paper discusses various changes made in classical coupled‐line narrow bandpass filters to somehow improve frequency response. First, the resonator's strip width was broadened to improve the lines' unloaded __Q__ factor. Second, the in/out coupled‐line sections were replaced by tapp

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
This paper describes the design of a narrow bandpass filter with attenuation poles used at high frequencies. The filter circuit is new and consists of coupled lines and resonators. This paper analyzes how the filter characteristics vary with these circuit parameters. A bandpass filter designed with the results is fabricated and tested. It is confirmed that a narrow bandpass filter with a relative bandwidth of 0.3% is obtained at a center frequency of 1 GHz. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract The aim of this study is to examine a coplanar bandpass filter (BPF) with attenuation poles using point‐coupled λ/4 resonators. The first part of this paper describes the resonance characteristics of the λ/4 resonators with chosen excitation methods. Secondly, the design of the BPF with
## Abstract A wideband bandpass filter using parallel‐coupled‐lines with periodical grooves is presented in this article. Owing to the slow wave effect brought by periodical grooves, the proposed structure's resonant frequency can be lowered effectively. This effect has been used in this article to
## Abstract In this paper, a bandpass filter using a microstrip slow‐wave open‐loop resonator with high impedance lines is presented. This resonator has the high impedance of a loaded microstrip line, which significantly increases not only the slow‐wave effect but also the dispersion effect. These
## Abstract We propose a compact dual band bandpass filter (BPF) using trisection stepped impedance resonators (SIRs). By appropriately selecting the impedance ratio (K) and length ratio (α) of the SIR, the harmonic frequencies can be tuned for generating the dual‐passband response. The BPF has goo
## Abstract A miniaturized microstrip cross‐coupling bandpass filter using new stepped impedance resonators (SIRs) with simultaneous suppression of the 2nd harmonic passband response is presented. Four improved and miniaturized SIRs constitute the compact filter, which exhibits a sharp transition b
