Abstract
This paper discusses various changes made in classical coupled‐line narrow bandpass filters to somehow improve frequency response. First, the resonator's strip width was broadened to improve the lines' unloaded Q factor. Second, the in/out coupled‐line sections were replaced by tapped‐line feeding. Finally, a transmission zero was added via a geometrical modification that favors nonadjacent resonator coupling. The theoretical and experimental results obtained with these microstrip filters are compared. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
