Abstract

Sodium acetate‐^18^O~2~ is synthesized by the hydrolysis of triethyl orthoacetate with water‐^18^O in 89% chemical yield with a 1.1 to 1.2‐fold dilution of the isotopic label contained in water‐^18^O.
