A series of maleic anhydride (MA)Γvinyl acetate (VA), MAΓmethyl methacrylate (MM) and MAΓstyrene (S) copolymers were prepared and characterized. By employing various amounts of initiator, MAΓVA, MAΓMM and MAΓS copolymers with molecular weights ranging between 18 000 and 219 000 were obtained. The "i
## Bridged N-protected p-amino acids have been regioselectively prepared from the corresponding bicyclic monoesrers. The subsequent cyclisation by thionyl chloride produced rhe &sired bridged azatricyclic anhydrides which are versatile substrates for the synthesis of dipeptides; they are also conver
## Abstract Maleic anhydride (MA) reacts in acetone solution with pyridine (Py) at room temperature with carbon dioxide evolution and formation of oligomers having average MΜ~n~ ranging from 400 to 700 daltons. The influence of pyridine concentration on the rate of decarboxylation has been studied.
