## Abstract ^13^C NMR spectra of synovial fluids from 20 patients suffering from rheumatic diseases have been recorded. Structural changes in hyaluronic acid, the main carrier of the viscoelastic properties of synovial fluid, could be observed in the NMR spectra of the native biological fluid. By c

β¦ Synopsis
Carbon-13 NMR data of [iilmetacyclophane (la), its 8,ll-dihalosubstituted derivatives lb-ld and of some model compounds are reported and discussed. A remarkable downfield shift is observed for the aromatic carbon between the bridging carbons; this is tentatively ascribed to long-range effects of the bridge and to the bending of the aromatic ring.

13 C NMR spectra of Si-alkylsubstituted derivatives of 1,3,5-trisilacyclohexanes have been recorded and analyzed. A systematic preparation of alkyl derivatives with mixed substituents made it possible to evaluate substituentinduced chemical shift (SCS) values for the ring carbon atoms in b and d po
Carbon-13 NMR chemical shifts of 5-Z-substituted l-naphthonitriles (1; Z = H, F, CI, Br, NH, , NMe,, CN, NO,, OMe, CHO, C0,Me) in deuteriochloroform and in neat trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) are reported. The C N carbon shifts are found to correlate well with the dual substituent parameters (DSPs). Neg

## Abstract ^13^CβNMR spectra of 20 cyanogenic glycosides have been measured in deuterium oxide. These compounds constitute representative examples of four groups of glycosides, namely the butyronitrile, propionitrile, mandelonitrile and cyclopentenoncyanohydrin glycosides. The well resolved signal
## Abstract An earlier short communication on this topic reports some incorrect ^11^Bο£Ώ^13^C coupling parameters. The correct data are given together with some ^10^B coupling and isomer shift data.
