An eight-week test programme was carried out on a test burner with 2.5 MW thermal output in the IFRF test furnace in Ijmuiden, The Netherlands. The burner test was accompanied by numerical calculations and cold flow experiments. This led to the application of the burner in a utility boiler with a th

โฆ Synopsis
The paper describes the fuel compositions of coal-water pastes (CWP) for PFBC boilers or furnaces, which comprise a first solid combustible having a CSN (crucible swelling number) of 0 or 112, a second solid combustible having a CSN of > 1, and liquids. The solid combustibles include coal, coke, petroleum coke, char, city refuse, and industrial wastes. The CWP fuels improve the inhibition of freeboard-zone combustion of the PFBC boilers.

Policy instruments clearly influence the choice of production technologies and fuels in large energy systems, including district heating networks. Current Swedish policy instruments aim at promoting the use of biofuel in district heating systems, and at promoting electric power generation from renew
