✦ Synopsis

In the title compound, C 18 H 12 N 2 O 2 , the carbazole ring system is essentially planar and makes a dihedral angle of 53.08 (4) with the plane of the nitrobenzene ring. In the crystal structure, inversion-related molecules form a C-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen-bonded dimer.
