✦ Synopsis
The title compound, C 50 H 44 , is a derivative of rubrene in which tert-butyl side groups are added to two of the pendant aromatic rings. The complete molecule is generated by a mirror plane, and the unsubstituted and substituted pendant aromatic rings are almost perpendicular to the main backbone of the molecule, which is essentially planar.
