The title compound, C~25~H~24~N~2~O~3~S~3~, was crystallized from a methanol–acetone mixture. The monoclinic structure features one molecule in the asymmetric unit. The crystal packing is stabilized by π stacking.
In the title compound, C 15 H 16 N 2 O 2 , the dihedral angle between the aromatic ring planes is 81.37 (13) . In the crystal structure,stacking [centroid-centroid separation = 3.890 (2) A ˚] helps to establish the packing.
The title compound, C 27 H 24 ClN 3 O 6 , a probable new herbicide, was synthesized by the reaction of 4,6-dimethoxy-2-(methylsulfonyl)pyrimidine and methyl 4-[2-chloro-4-(2-hydroxybenzylamino)phenoxy]benzoate in tetrahydrofuran. -Interactions occur between neighbouring benzene rings.
