## Abstract NMR studies on the reaction of bis[bis(tri‐__tert__‐butoxysilanethiolato)cadmium(II)] with 3,5‐dimethylpyridine in benzene‐__d__~6~ and toluene‐__d__~8~ solutions provide clear evidence for the equilibrium character of formation of mixed S,N‐ligand cadmium complex. Copyright © 2007 John

✦ Synopsis
The title compound, [Cd(C 12 H 27 O 3 SSi) 2 (C 7 H 9 N)], is a molecular heteroleptic cadmium thiolate containing an additional 3,5-dimethylpyridine ligand. The Cd II ion is located at the centre of the trigonal bipyramid formed by five atoms, viz. two S, two O and one N. Molecules pack as discrete units, with no short intermolecular contacts.
