โฆ Synopsis
of the ideal gas approximation for rotons, and a qualitative roton liquid model is proposed. The temperature dependence of viscosity of the liquid model is found to correspond with the observed viscosity above 1.8ยฐK, and with the discontinuity in the temperature derivative of viscosity at the lambda point.

The authors remeasured the viscosity of liquid helium with a somewhat improved apparatus. The method was that of the oscillating disc. Results obtained in the neighbourhood of the lambda-point are only given. These results make it probable that a discontinuity of the viscosity at the lambdapoint doe
Heat capacity measurements of the liquid helium lambda transition in confined geometries have long been in disagreement with scaling theories of second order phase transitions. We present measurements of a 19 micron helium film which extend previous work to near macroscopic size. We find that the ne
