✦ Synopsis
The title compound, C 19 H 16 N 4 O 5 S, was synthesized by the reaction of 2-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine-2-ylsulfanyl)benzoic acid and 3-nitroaniline in the presence of N,N 0 -dicyclohexylcarbodiimide catalyst in dichloromethane. Intramolecular N-HÁ Á ÁN hydrogen bonds are found in the crystal structure.

## Abstract A convenient preparation of 2‐[^15^N]‐amino‐4,6‐dimethoxypyrimidine using ^15^N‐ammonium chloride as the source of ^15^N is described.
The title compound, C 9 H 8 N 2 O 3 , was obtained by a zinc chloride-promoted addition and ring-closure reaction involving 3-nitrobenzonitrile and 2-ethanolamine. The planar oxazoline and aromatic rings of the molecule are almost coplanar, with a dihedral angle of 8.79 (5) between them. The oxazoli
