## Abstract The ^13^C n.m.r. spectra of four classes of __N__βaryl sulphurβnitrogen compounds are discussed. The __para__ carbon shieldings of the __N__βphenyl derivatives reflect the substituents effects of the various nitrogen groups. These show large differences for the four classes of compounds
