✦ Synopsis

The crystal structure of the title compound, C 12 H 15 BrN 2 OS, is composed of discrete molecules with bond lengths and angles quite typical for thiourea compounds of this class. The molecule exists in the solid state in its thione form with typical thiourea C-S and C-O bonds lengths, as well as shortened C-N bonds. Stabilized by an intramolecular N-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bond, the thiocarbonyl and carbonyl groups are almost coplanar. The three methyl groups are disordered over two positions with occupancy factors in an approximate 4:1 ratio.
