✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A general method for the synthesis of π‐allyl‐iron‐tricarbonyl halides, enabling the preparation of the parent π‐allyl complexes and also of π‐allyl complexes with functional groups attached to the allyl ligand, is described. The method is equally applicable to the preparation of the chlorides, bromides and iodides. A series of such compounds have been prepared, and their physical properties and structures are discussed.
