✦ Synopsis

In the title compound, [Cu~2~Cl~2~(C~8~H~4~O~4~)(C~18~H~10~N~4~)~2~], the Cu^II^ atom is four-coordinated by two N atoms from one bidentate dipyrido[3,2-a:2′,3′-c]phenazine ligand, one Cl^−^ anion and one O atom from the benzene-1,4-dicarboxylate ligand. The complete benzene-1,4-dicarboxylate ligand is generated by inversion symmetry, leading to a dinuclear complex. Neighbouring molecules interact through π–π stacking, resulting in a two-dimensional supramolecular structure.
