✦ Synopsis
Abstroct: ct,to-Dicarboxylic acid dimethxl esters are easily obtained by ring clcasagc ol ttnitrocycloalkanones. Thus, reaction ol the latter compounds ~vith three cquixalents of potassium persullatc, in methanol and in presence o1 sulfuric acid at 80 °C, provides ct.to-dicarboxxltc acid dimethyl esters in high yields. Long-chain, and alkylatcd ot,to-dicarboxylic acid dimethyl esters can be also cl[icicntl 3 obtained.
