Abstract

In azo compounds with CH~3~O groups in o‐position to the azo groups the introduction of the weak auxochromes CH~3~– and CH~3~O– into the p‐position to the methoxy group (m‐position to the chromophor) causes relatively strong bathochromic effects, in conformity with the rule of repartition.
