✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Conformational analysis of cis and trans isomers of 2‐, 3‐ and 4‐méthylcyclohexanols is performed. The axial equatorial conformational equilibrium is calculated for each of these alcohols. The equilibrium is confirmed by the analysis of the ν(CO) absorption bands and is supported by the known acetylation rates.
