Abstract
Integrated intensities of OH stretching absorption bands have been determined for a series of substituted cyclohexanols. The measurements, reported for 16 alcohols, do not indicate any significant intensity difference between axial and equatorial hydroxyl groups. There appears to be a small but significant difference between the intensity of secondary and tertiary alcohols. No appreciable polar effects on the OH linkage due to alkyl group substituents on carbon atoms other than C~1~, appear to exist.
