## Abstract Aus α‐Methyl‐4.6‐äthyliden‐D‐glucosid erhält man mit NaJO~4~ den Dialdehyd III, der mit Nitromethan zum 3‐Nitro‐heptosid V kondensiert wurde. Katalytische Reduktion mit Pt und anschließende __N__‐Acetylierung führten zum kristallisierten Hydrat einer 3‐Acetamino‐heptose. Nach Vergleich
