✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Apparent pK‐values have been determined for benzoic acid, trans‐cinnamic acid, picric acid, o‐chloro‐benzoic acid, p‐nitro‐phenol, quinine, brucine, sym‐diphenyl‐guanidine, 1, 2, 3‐triphenyl‐guanidine and (−)‐ephedrine in the solvent systems methylcellosolve/water and dimethylformamide/water as a function of the relative composition of these systems. The reproducibility of these values for a given range of the most important variables has been determined.

## Abstract It is shown that the determination of apparent pK‐values of aliphatic dicarboxylic acids in the nonaqueous solvent systems methylcellosolve/water and dimethylformamide/water by a previously described micromethod yields thermodynamically undefined values, which however show the same rela

## Abstract Apparent pK‐values have been determined for 56 aromatic acids in the solvent system methylcellosolve (80 wt.‐ %)/water (20 wt.‐ %) with a previously described fully automatic titration apparatus. The validity of the __Hammett__ equation was tested and found to express the experimental d
