✦ Synopsis
Abstract
N‐terminal amino acid analysis, VAN SLYKE amino nitrogen and VAN SLYKE carboxyl determinations give evidence that hypoglycin B is γ‐L‐glutamyl‐hypoglycin‐A. VAN SLYKE amino nitrogen determinations by the method of G. KAINZ et al. demonstrate that it is possible, at least in the case of hypoglycin B, to avoid the anomalous behavior (reaction of both the amino and the γ‐amide groups with nitrous acid) of γ‐glutamyl peptides with a free α‐carboxyl group.
