Abstract

It is shown that, in contrast to the 0‐carboxy‐0′‐hydroxy‐azo‐ and ‐azomethine dyestuffs, the 0,0′‐dihydroxy‐azo dyestuffs form exclusively, or at least mainly, sterically homogeneous 1:2‐chromium complexes.

## Abstract N‐(2‐Carboxyphenyl)‐C‐(2‐hydroxy‐1‐naphthyl)‐methylenimine, which is an analogue of (2‐carboxyphenyl)‐azo‐(2‐hydroxy‐1‐naphthalene), is shown to form several isomeric 1:2‐chromium complexes, which are stereoisomers.
