✦ Synopsis

This paper deals with noise shielding effected by elements of city planning. After establishing restrictive conditions an attempt was made to compare, by means of model measurements, the shieMing effect of walls, buildings and mounds and to establish the influence of absorption and reflection on screening.

The results of these investigations are presented as diagrams which show the effectiveness of various experimental conditions and measures compared with the original situation.
