The a-methyl-and P-methylcyclogeraniolenes, isolated by vapor-phase prepararative chromatography from the cyclisation products of dihydromyrcenes are des- cribed. Evidence, by NMR. and IR. spectroscopy, is presented for their structures. The y-methylcyclogeraniolene is present in the cyclisation products to a very small extent if present at all.
