D.c. SQUIDS for liquid nitrogen operation are implemented with grain boundary Josephson junctions in off-axis sputtered Y1Ba2Cu30ร— stripes at step edges in NdGaO 3 substrates. The special properties of the Josephson junctions due to the excellent lattice match between the orthorhombic substrate and
