Differences in surface chemical composition were found when examining poly (vinylacetateco-vinylalcohol) (PVOH) film surfaces. The content of the acetate groups increased at the outermost surface when dried in air and similar content, when dried against a glass surface, compared to the bulk content.

Polystyrene and polyethyleneterephthalate (PET) coupons were exposed to r.f. plasmas containing helium, oxygen and nitrogen. The modified surfaces were characterized by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy shortly following plasma treatment and after storage in air for about 360 days. The oxygen concent
Photopyroelectric spectroscopy (PPES), in the 400 Ο½ Ο½ 900 nm wavelength range, was used to study thermal properties of differently doped polyaniline (PAN) films. The photopyroelectric intensity signal V n () and its phase F n () were independently measured, as well as the intensity V n (f) and the p
The composition-depth profile studies using x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) are carried out for Mn thin films grown on GaAs(001) substrates at different substrate temperatures. The experimental results show that due to the interdiffusion and chemical reaction, an Mn-Ga-As mixed layer is forme
