X-Ray Study and Physico-Chemical Analyses of Magnesium Hexaaquabromate

Magnesium hexaaquabromate (Mg(H,O),(BrO,),) was obtained and analysed by means of X-ray powder diffraction, infrared (IR) spectroscopy, and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) technique. A thermal analysis of the compound was also carried out. In the temperature range 293-77 K there was no structural phase transition detected. The space group of the compound was found to be Pa3 and the structure of the magnesium hexaaquabromate was refined using the Rietveld method.

Szesciowodny bromian magnezu zostal otrzymany i przebadany metodq rentgenowskiej dyfrakcji proszkowej, spektroskopii w podczerwieni (IR) oraz technikq magnetycznego rezonansu jadrowego. Przeprowadzono rowniei analize termograwimetrycznq badanego zwiqzku. W zakresie temperatur 293 -77 K nie stwierdzono strukturalnego przejkia fazowego. Grupa przestrzenna zostala okreilona jako grupa Pa3, a strukture szeiciowodnego bromianu magnezu uiciklono metodq Rietvelda.

A systematic study of the relative x-ray intensity ratios of the K-and L-series lines was made on compounds of Fe, Pt and U to examine the influence of chemical state on energy-dispersive x-ray fluorescence analysis. The measurements were done using an energy-dispersive Si(Li) detector with photon e
