## Abstract The purpose of our study was to establish the profile of cortical reorganization in whole BPAI on rats and evaluate changes of cortical reorganization after repair of the median nerve with the contralateral C7 root transfer. Forty adult SD rats underwent whole roots avulsion of left bra

β¦ Synopsis
Adult aiiimals havc becii used almost exclusively for the study of x-irradiation damage to the mammalian testis. Regaud and Dubreuil ('07) reported that spermatogonia of prepubertal rabbits wcrc more susceptible to x-rays than those of adults of this species. Since this early report, thcre seems to be almost a complete absence of literature dealing with this phase of study. Thereforc, it seemed important that the effect of x-rays on immature testes of rats be investigated to obtain a broader understanding of the postirradiation histopathology of this organ, aiid to secure data pertinent t o effects observed in the study of adult testes reported earlier (Shaver, '53). As was shown in the study mentioned (Shaver, '53), both "dust-like ' ' and " crust-like " spermatogonia are remarkably resistant to morphologic injury after total-body irradiation of 500r. Although one might expect this to be true also in immature animals, since spermatogonia at different ages pre-*Based on work performed under contract with the United States Atomic Energy Commission a t the University of Rochester Atomic Energy Project, Rochester, New York.
