## Abstract The transient characteristics of an erbiumβdoped fiber (EDF) laser, which can switch between wavelengths, are investigated. The laser has a set of coupled linear cavities. The slow gain dynamics of EDFs and the crossβgain saturation in the coupled cavities give rise to delayed switching

β¦ Synopsis
Radioluminescence from electron-irradiated polyethylene doped with pyrene was investigated in the temperature range of 77-273 K. The spectra of emitted light were recorded, and temperature dependences of radioluminescence intensities at chosen wavelengths were examined using a wavelength-selected radiothermoluminescence technique. The experimental results were explained in terms of an electron-solute radical cation and solute radical ions recombination. Pyrene excimer emission was observed in the glass transition temperature range of the polyethylene matrix.

The effect of pumping wavelengths on the performance of double-clad Ytterbium-doped fiber laser (YDFL) is experimentally demonstrated. The YDFL is constructed using a fiber Bragg grating as wavelength selective filter in a linear cavity resonator. The YDFL operates at wavelength of 1064.4 nm with a
The precipitation of proteins with polyethylene glycol (PEG) of various average molecular weights was studied. it was found that the specificity of precipitation, that is the ratio of desired protein and total protein, can be improved by using PEG fractions of lower average molecular weight than the
The Bi-doped fiber lasers operating at wavelengths of 1280 nm, 1330 nm, 1480 nm, and 1500 nm with a maximal output power of up to 2 W and a slope efficiency of 14 -25% have been demonstrated for the first time. We have also investigated the influence of the doping concentration (GeO2 and P2O5) on th
