โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

The monomer 2,5โ€diaminobenzenesulfonic acid has been polymerized to a high molecular weight, conjugated main chain azo polymer. The presence of the azo group in the polymer was confirmed using Raman spectroscopy. The polymer is highly soluble in water over a wide pH range. It is also soluble in common polar organic solvents such as N,Nโ€dimethylformamide, dimethyl sulfoxide and Nโ€methylโ€2โ€pyrrolidone.

## Abstract **Summary:** Copolymers of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and 5,5โ€ฒโ€azodisalicylic acid (Olsalazine, OLZ) were synthesized and evaluated by hydrolysis and inโ€vitro biodegradation with azoreductase. It was found that changing the molecular weight of the PEO blocks affected the loading ratio o

Homopolymers and copolymers of acrylamide (AA) and acrylic acid (AAc) were synthesized by the free radical solution polymerization technique. Feed ratios of the monomers were 85 : 15 (w/w), 65 : 35 (w/w), and 50 : 50 (w/w) of acrylamide and acrylic acid, respectively, for synthesis of copolymers. Al

A series of a,~-bis(3-formylcarbazolyl)alkane monomers have been prepared starting from carbazole and a,w-dibromoalkane in two steps. Main-chain polymers with carbazole substituted with one acceptor group as the nonlinear optical (NLO) chromophores and photoconductive moieties were synthesized by th
