This paper describes a new, simplified pulse sequence for observing NMR signals from deoxymyoglobin in vivo. Paramagnetically shifted resonances from deoxymyoglobin can be exploited to noninvasively calculate intracellular oxygen tension in striated muscle. However, special sequences are required to
