✦ Synopsis
The voltage-current characteristics of some high field, high current superconductors are investigated. Small diameter Nb Ti wires were chosen in order to suppress the heating effects. The parameter characterizing the slope of log E-I curves is evaluated and used to compare the properties of different samples. Some results of current-field angle influence on E-I characteristic are also reported. A mechanism is presented and discussed which could be responsible for premature superconducting-normal state transition of the bare samples.
