β¦ Synopsis
Current-Voltage characteristics (IVC) have been investigated in thin Y-Ba-Cu-O films. The power-low dependence in the lowervoltage regi-on observed in wide temperature 77 KsTs92 K and magnetic field HsST interval is explained on the basis of the modified Kosterlitz-Thouless (KT) theory for two-dimensional systems. Thermal instability has been observed, switching the superconductor into stable resistive state. The effect of the environment temperature, cooling conditions and the external magnetic field on the behavior of the IVC is explained in the framework of the hotspot theory for superconducting bridges. Direct observation of the resistive hotspot was performed.

Biaxially aligned (triaxially aligned) YSZ thin films were formed on polycrystalline substrates by ionbeam assisted deposition (IBAD). The biaxial aligning of YSZ was much affected by the incident angle of the assisting ion-beam toward the substrate. In-plane aligned YBCO thin films were deposited b
