β¦ Synopsis
Mcthylmethacrylate and styrene were polymerized with Co(acac)3-A1Et~Br catalyst system in benzene at 40~ Rate of polymerization is linear to monomer concentrations. Maximum percent conversion of polymer was obtained when A1/Co~ 2 with styrene and A1/Co~3 with methylmethacrylate. With increase in aging time catalytic activity decreases. A~tivation energy was found to be 60 KJ reel? with styrene and 49 KJ reel. with met hylmet hacrylatc.

## Abstract A study has been made of the polymerization of acetylene, propyne, and butyneβ1 using aluminum triisobutyl, __n__βbutyllithium, or zinc diethyl in combination with titanium tetrachloride as catalyst. Optimum conditions for polymerization were determined by varying the catalyst compositi
