โœฆ Synopsis

Derivatives of penta-O-acetyl sucrose containing up to three p-vinylbenzoate groups have been prepared and copolymerised with styrene and with methyl methacrylate. The glass transition temperatures of the copolymers were determined both before and after mild hydrolysis of the acetyl protecting groups; the results are discussed in terms of the structures of the polymers.
