β¦ Synopsis
Vibrational overtone transitions of OCS in the near infrared, 10 000-14 000 cm 01 , are observed for the first time by means of the photoacoustic technique. The spectra are analyzed using molecular parameters and Hamiltonions derived for energy levels below 5000 cm 01 . It is demonstrated that the molecular parameters of OCS for the low vibrational states can be extended to higher vibrational states within experimental accuracy. A total of 14 transitions in three polyad groups were assigned. Strong perturbations were observed in these highly excited states of OCS.

Near-infrared emission bands were observed near 6200 and 5700 cm 01 when water vapor (H 2 O, D 2 O) was added to the reaction of bismuth vapor (Bi x ) with microwave-discharged oxygen in a fast-flow system. With the help of ab initio calculations of Yang Khandogin et al. (to be published in J. Mol.
Rotational analyses of 32 subbands of the near-infrared 3 β½ 3 (1) 3 β¬ system of LaF have been carried out, involving the levels v Ο 0 -7 of the two states. The three subsystems were first treated as separate singlet systems, directly at equilibrium. Perturbations were revealed in the lower state, as
The near-infrared electronic transition of CuCl, occurring in the region of 745 nm, was recorded using intracavity laser absorption spectroscopy. The (0, 0), (1, 1), and (2, 2) vibronic bands were analyzed, and from this the molecular constants for the two electronic states were derived. Originally
The near-infrared Y 2 + -X 2 transition of the diatomic molecule CuSe was observed for the first time. A King-type carbon tube furnace was used to produce the gas phase of the CuSe molecules. The Fourier transform spectrometer associated with the National Solar Observatory, Kitt Peak, Arizona was us
