We present infrared spectroscopic measurements of C,, with 27 observed frequencies. Even in the far-infrared some peaks can be resolved. The observed spectra are compared with calculations of the vibrational spectrum of C,,. In this way we can assign symmetry species to 24 of the 27 observed frequen

β¦ Synopsis
Raman scattering measurements yielding 26 vibrational mode frequencies, along with their depolarization ratios, are reported. A force-constant model, originally developed for C M), is extended to CT0 and is shown to result in good agreement with these measurements using two adjustable parameters to fit 26 observed Raman and 16 infrared modes.

Singlet oxygen luminescence and its vibronic coupling to the molecular modes of the crystalline host, first discovered in Cso, is shown to be present in air-exposed crystalline C ra. CT0 modes which are otherwise optically inactive are observed and found to be in good agreement with the vibrational
We report the vibrational density of states (VDOS) for the C7o molecule calculated using the recursion method. The Born potential is adopted for calculating the dynamic matrix. The results show that the peak positions of the VDOS for the C7o molecule are in reasonable qualitative agreement with thos

## Abstract Dichroic properties of the farβinfrared absorption bands of the rightβhanded Ξ±βhelix of polyβLβalanine were measured. The normal vibration frequencies of this structure were calculated. The assignments of bands were made and the vibrational modes disβcussed. The frequencies of the Ξ±βhel
