A model based on :iemiclassical collision theory is presented to describe the dephasing of vibrationally excited molecules in a Iiquid. It is sholvn that fluctuations of the vibrational frequencies, which are uuzed by the intermolecular interaction, lead to phase rc:laxation of 3 coherently excited

โฆ Synopsis
Raman spectra are reported for the v1 bands of germane and germane-d,. Fourier transformation of the band shapes provided vibrational autocorrelation functions. These functions were modeled by a memory-function procedure. Evidence for resonant vibrational energy transfer and higher order cumulant-expnsion terms was found in an isotopicdilution study.
