✦ Synopsis
The paper presents an experimental study of flow properties in a swirl driven combustion chamber for pulverized anthracite using a back-scatter laser-Doppler anemometer. Axial and tangential particle velocity components under isothermal and nonreacting conditions are compared with those in the high temperature reacting flow. The results show the effect of coal combustion on swirl behavior and fluid flow.

This paper describes a mathematical model which has been developed to predict axial concenWation decay of powdered coal jet by dimensional analysis. The procedure was applied for jets using primary air alone and also for jets using both primary and secondary air. Experiments for measuring concentrat
