V. CONCLUSIONS
Hybrid fiber-radio cellular networks and CDMA techniques can lead to a more effective exploitation of the available radio spectrum for microcellular coverage. In such hybrid networks, optical fiber remotes can be used to connect the base station to the cell antenna. Therefore the nonlinear behavior of a semiconductor laser has to be carefully considered.
In this letter, intrinsic dynamic distortions due to the nonlinear behavior of a semiconductor laser are analyzed in the case of ''quasimonochromatic'' signaling, and its effect on the performance of a CDMA radio-cellular system is evaluated in such a way that useful information about HFR network design can be obtained.
