โฆ Synopsis
Total vapour pressure measurements made by a modified static method for the ternary mixture (N -methylacetamide + ethanol + water) and for the binary mixture (N -methylacetamide + ethanol) at the temperature 313.15 K are presented. Different expressions for the excess Gibbs free energy are tested, and prediction of ternary (vapour + liquid) equilibrium from binary results is examined.

Excess molar volumes, V E , measured at the temperature 313.15 K in a dilution dilatometer are reported for binary mixtures (N -methylacetamide + water), (N -methylacetamide + methanol), and for the ternary mixture (N -methylacetamide + methanol + water). The results have been analysed using various
Activity coefficients of sodium bromide in aqueous mixtures of sodium bromide and sodium acetate were determined by e.m.f. measurements at T = 298.15 K and the total ionic strengths of (0.1, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, and 3.0) mol โข kg -1 . Liquid + liquid) equilibrium tie-lines were measured for the two quaternary systems = 101.3 kPa. The experimental (liquid + liquid) equilibrium results have been satisfactorily correlated by modified and extended UNIQUAC models both with ternary and quaternary parameters in addition to binary ones.
The activity coefficient data were reported for (water + potassium chloride + DL-valine) at T = 298.15 K and (water + sodium chloride + L-valine) at T = 308.15 K. The measurements were performed in an electrochemical cell using ion-selective electrodes. The maximum concentrations of the electrolytes
